In the world, art is recreated from all sorts of visions and perspectives, paintings, music, writing, composition, web, etc. Just as you have all sorts of ways, there are also disciplines that try to unite all these movements in a single harmonic representation

And this empire is born a new culture, very recent, as the Anime has its beginnings around 1968 as such, unlike the American comic, dating from the 30s. It happens after the Second World War, where Japan is exposed to a new culture began to adopt Western (Remember it was the same general Mc Arthur who directed the reconstruction of Japan).
With so many new trends, many pioneers begin to gather ideas from the new American animation.

Disney and Warner, the two major schools of American animation this current feeding combined with traditional Japanese Manga, which is nothing more than the name given to the comics (in Japanese is something like, drawings continuous)

One of the pioneers considered (erroneously) by many as the creator of Anime is the great master Osamu Tezuka, creator of the blockbuster series AstroBoy, the first anime released as a series, with details that mark the history and the elongated legs or the big eyes.
But beyond the animation and the history is culture, art and the creation of a generation.

Round eyes.

This is due rather to the influence of a Japanese artist that the obsession of the Japanese for their small and large eyes. You could say that this Japanese artist Ozamu Tezuka is the pioneer of anime and manga (comics) in Japan. What characterizes this artist are disproportionately large eyes, one of the most important legacies of Tezuka manga or Japanese comics, influenced largely by the Walt Disney cartoon.
Deeply scarred by the horrors of World War II, from the moment I try to convey with his drawings and humanitarian optimistic messages. His first major work he did at age 20. Shin was Takarajima Series (New Treasure Island), but until the 50s did not appear most of his great and famous characters such as Janguru Taitei (Kimba the White Lion), Tetsuwan Atom (Astroboy) and the equally famous Ribbon No Kishi (Princess Knight), considered the first shojo manga genre in history.
His creations, animations and drawings impacted much so that even to this day the basis of its estlio endures in many Japanese artists. And the biggest influence and I leave Ozamu outstanding Tezuka's drawings was quite big and round eyes.
