The mayor of Amsterdam proclaim its gay capital of Europe with the first marriage between persons of the same sex, the council held at the April 1, 2001.

The city has a wide selection of hotels, bars, cafes and clubs for gay men and women. Amsterdam has over 100 bars, clubs, shops and cafes of homosexual environment.

It is a unique experience to enjoy an incredibly beautiful city with the spirit of freedom and tolerance of the Dutch will make the trip an unforgettable adventure. Because homosexuality is free in the Netherlands. Gays and lesbians have the right to marry if they want. The minimum age of 16 years is the only requirement for homosexuals. For prostitution, however, the age is 18.
