Adam & Steve

Combining irreverent humor and heartfelt romance, Adam & Steve co-opts American cinematic 'formulas', namely the romantic comedy and movie musical, and turns them inside out while paying homage to them at the same time. Inhabiting a post 9/11 New York, Adam & Steve follows the romantic trajectory of two people struggling to make love work in spite of overwhelming odds.

Having met in the 80's after a disastrous one night stand, Adam (Craig Chester) & Steve (Malcolm Gets) don't recognize each other when they meet again fifteen years later. With the help of their best friends, formely obese stand up comic Rhonda (Parker Posey), and straight guy ladies man Michael (Chris Kattan), our protagonists fall in love only to realize, a year into their relationship, that they met before and unwittingly changed the course of each other's lives that fatefull night in the 80's.

Adam & SteveNow the question is: can they accept this and incorporate it into their current understanding of each other? Or more importantly, can they hold hands on the street without being beaten up? Adam & Steve marks the directorial debut of the multi-talented Craig Chester.

A pioneering actor in the independent film world, Craig Chester scored an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his role in the drama Swoon and has appeared in many films including Grief, Frisk, I Shot Andy Warhol and Kiss me, Guido. He has also appeared on Sex and the City, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and in the ABC movie Out of Darkness with Diana Ross.

Says Peter Panthy

A couple of years ago I saw a part of this movie on youtube, including one scene "traumatic" of the film which made me think that it was not a quality film, not the complete saw, now I met her again and certainly recommend it because it made me laugh a lot and also excited, many will surely feel identified with the coss that happen to these men in search of love, and in turn not sure how truly is a gay relationship as a parameter without a hetero relationship. Crazy, human, tender, romantic and highly emotional. You must not miss this film!
